Product Information Typical WCC System Configuration
The WCC System uses advanced digital serial communication technology to send voltage command messages from the wire feeder to the WCC Control over the welding cable. The WCC Control then commands the welding power source via the 14-pin remote connection.

With a WCC-equipped VS feeder and power source you can change the output voltage at the feeder and save a trip to the power supply. No extra control cable to purchase, maintain, string or unstring—saving time and money. WCC also extends the remote control capability beyond the reach of a control cable system. Ez-Bind™ Feature
SuitCase X-TREME 8VS/12VS WCC Features Improved contactor for high-amperage, high duty cycle applications (8VS: 330 A at 60%, 12VS: 425 A at 60%) Polypropylene case with built-in slide rails and the ability to open the door to change wire with the feeder in a vertical position.
Digital meters with SunVision™ technology are standard for voltage and wire speed, and can also display amperage if desired. Meters can be seen clearly even in direct sunlight. Wider voltage range for small and large wires with no contactor chatter or arc outages. Double-filtered gas valve helps keep dirt from clogging and affecting gas flow. Excellent starts and improved superior arc performance for all types and sizes of wires whether using CV or CC power supply. Best low-end CC arc in the industry. WCC Control Features WCC Control communicates with WCC equipped SuitCase X-TREME wire feeder. Digital messages are passed between the WCC Control and feeder via the weld cable. WCC Control responds to the messages Easy installation — weld cable with connectors is provided for easy power source connection. Connect the 14-pin connector to the power source. Dinse and Tweco models are available. Thermal overload protection protects internal components from damage and automatically shuts down the unit if duty cycle is exceeded or air flow and cooling are estricted XMT Power Source Features Wind Tunnel Technology™ Fan-On-Demand™ operates only when needed reducing noise, power consumption, and the amount of airborne contaminants pulled through the machine. Lift-Arc™ start provides TIG arc starting without the use of high frequency. Adaptive Hot Start™ for Stick Lightweight, aerospace-grade aluminum case offers protection with the benefit of reduced weight. Inverter arc control technology provides greater puddle control for superior 6010 Stick electrode performance. LVC™ Line Voltage Compensation keeps welding output constant even if input power varies by +/-10%. Line voltage compensation further expands to +37% and -59% when operating on 460 VAC. Process selector switch reduces the number of control setup combinations without reducing any features. Large, dual digital meters are easy to view and presettable to ease setting weld output.
XMT 456 CC/CV Additional Features 115 VAC auxiliary power provides 10 amps of circuit-breaker-protected power for water circulators, ect. Primary voltage display shows what primary voltage the power source is linked for without removing the side panels. Saves time and assures you that the power source has been correctly linked for available input voltage. Unique case design helps protect internal components from dirt and dust. To connect input power cord and/or set unit up for correct input power, remove the easy-to-handle panel (1/3 case). The remaining two-thirds of the case never needs to be removed! Optional remote on/off provides ability to turn power source on or off when it is located away from your work. |
